Pausing to stare out at the sky...hey, we all do it...I was blown away to see a hobby come tear *rsing low and west over the garden at Dempsey Towers yesterday evening.
Any hobby makes a day, but this had the added bonus of being a garden tick.
Presumably a migrant heading south it was gone in the blink of an eye, speeding along like an exocet.
Imagine being a swallow when one of those things comes up tailgating you _ nightmare!
A raging hooley is blowing outside now (5.55am BST) and rain is sheeting down the road _ if you're free today I'd get down to check the sycamores on the south side of Crosby marina, the marina itself, or for the unstoppably optimistic, the bushes around Formby Point _ if the storm eases.
Just the same sort of conditions as last Friday that saw a fall of birds on the Great Orme.
Now it just needs to stop for lots of birding goodies to pop up....failing that, there's always a seawatch...
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies.
