This is more like it...force 6-7 north westerly blasting hell out of the windsock at RAF Woodvale as I tazzed into work this a.m.
Heavy rain showers are good too...tide is high at about 9.45am today, so get seawatching....it's not that late in the season and there were leach's petrels off Heysham and Whitehaven further up north yesterday.
The tide height is not mega, but with a wind like this it shouldn't pose too much of a problem.
There's always a chance of a pom skua or something even better.
Get your waterproofs on and head for a good seawatching spot (see earlier blog entries for them, and of course, Steve Young's seabird gallery _ blog entry August 30th).
Go on, you know you want to.
Crosby Marine Park has the added bonus if birds aren't moving, of the ring billed gull, which was still there yesterday.
(Don't forget to check your tide tables _ I will not be held responsible for any unfortunate incidents).
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies (and waves).
* Yee-haw...www.deeestuary.co.uk reports at least 3 Leach's petrels and a black tern past New Brighton this morning _ bring 'em on!
