Waxwings - it must be winter

Posted by on December 16, 2005 1:39 PM |

With waxwings near the Rocket pub at the end of the M62 in Liverpool last Friday, and 4 in Llandudno over the weekend, will we have another invasion?
The big numbers came in December last year, so keep your fingers crossed.

I see the Richard's Pipits are still at West Kirby and Water Pipit is back at Neston.
Marshside was nice last Sunday - 2,000 Golden Plover and plenty of wildfowl.
A kestrel robbed a male sparrowhawk of its prey on the outer marsh and the ciffchaff (Collybita) is still in the 5551 ditch.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies ...

Rocket Pub is at end of M62.
Marshside has usual wildfowl, waders and raptors in numbers - see more recent entries for latest updates.
