Quick check of Marshside this morning in the drizzle revealed this nice Green Winged Teal, which turned up yesterday and spent most its time with its head underwater feeding.
Bit grey and murky to get a decent shot....

The bird is off Nel's Hide on Marshside One.
Female Yellow Wagtail on the reserve this morning too, with singing Whitethroat, Sedgies, Reed Warbler in the SSSI ditch and loadsa Swallows forced down by the rain.
Pullus Lapwing are out already and 13 Avocets are sitting on nests _ their numbers swell each year!
Nipped over to Plex Moss later, where there were at least 10 Greenland Wheatears, and a calling Cuckoo amongst the usual residents.
Got two shots of a singing Corn Bunting (below) on the way back over Carr Moss.

Great Grey Shrike on Leasowe Common and Subalpine Warbler on Hilbre....so stuff is on the move.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies.
