Thanks to everyone who has submitted stuff for my Daily Post column _ (every Saturday, plug, plug, plug) the latest overflow of records appears here...
Jim Brady had two Water Rails by the feeding station at Mere Sands Wood at the weekend, also flowering yellow primrose and cowslip on the path to the Ron Barker Hide at Martin Mere.
Jim watched a recently hatched brood of Mallard chicks on the canal at St Helens on Saturday and also had buff tailed bumblebee and small tortoiseshell there.
Bill Harrison had House Martins, Chiffchaffs, plus bumblebees and small tortoiseshell at Prescot Reservoirs last week.
Colin Davis counted 18 House Martins at Eccleston Reservoir last Tuesday.
Chris Felton visited Hilbre on March 20 and had the following:
100 Common Scoter, Black Throated Diver, 3 Red Throated Diver, juvenile Shag, Peregrine over the sea (a migrant?) and 628 Little Gulls, a stonking count.
Steve Cross had 3,000 Common Scoters off Formby Point in March _ watch out for the wind turbines boys and girls!!!!
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies (especially if you're a scoter in Liverpool Bay)....
