
Thanks to Neill Hunt for this great pic of one of the Martin Mere Black Winged Stilts which turned up this a.m. The birds are out on Vinson's Marsh.
Just like the Marsh Sandpipers that arrived at Marshside all those years ago (happy memories) I assume these 3 Black Winged Stilts are the birds from Lincs and followed the M62 west (higher up than the average articulated lorry mind) because the glistening tarmac looked like a river?
Don't discount the theory...
Eyes to the skies everyone (unless you're on the M62), eyes to the skies...
