More rain...no birding, so here's some pix of Ruddy Ducks Neill Hunt took at the weekend...

You can always tell the difference between Neill's pix and mine - his are in focus.
I like Ruddy Ducks too much say where these two are - everyone who has seen this pair will know anyway, but just remember careless talk to DEFRA costs lives....

Anyone who worries about White Headed Duck should take a trip down to central Spain and see just how many there really are - and how much bigger they are than Ruddys - if one of the Yankees ever tried to dilute the gene pool I think it would get the mother of all White Headed beatings...
I say "keep on bubbling guys...."
Not much else to report, the stilts are still doing fine at Martin Mere and Andy Bate had three hunting Barn Owls (in between showers) and two Buzzards out on Plex Moss last week.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies....

Spanish W H Ducks are superb, La Mancha Lakes approx. 1.5 hours south of Madrid is a really good sight for this species, excellent all round birding as well.
Quite right Neill...but don't forget to tell them about the industrial Superglue strength mud we had to negotiate to walk around the pools.
Worth it though for the ducks, Great Reed Warbler, Pin Tailed Sandgrouse etc that we saw there _ happy memories!
