The first pair of Common Swifts zoomed back to Dempsey Towers in Ainsdale last night _ always good to see them settling in.
Then Tropical Thomason called after he and Neill Hunt had plenty of swifts passing thro' Marshside, a nice male Whinchat, and that most prized of migrants at Marshside, a male Redstart around the Sandgrounders hide yesterday afternoon.
Two Whimbrel rose up calling from the verge by the "Lighthouse" roundabout on Formby by-pass as I drove in at 5.30am today _ dispersing birds from the North Moss Lane flock maybe?
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...

Can only assume you have been asleep - our first swifts arrived overnight 2/3rd May; or maybe they didn't want to venture into north Liverpool until they had restocked their reserves!
Blimey Bob, give us a break _ our swifts only turned up 24 hours after yours (even I have to go to work sometimes....and I never sleep.)
Regards,
John
