Barry McCarthy (or "King Bazzo of the Dunes" as he shall hereafter be known) just texted me as he completed another morning seawatch at Formby Point - 3 Storm Petrels past today, but not much else.
And some late seawatching news from Derek Williams, scanning the waves at Freshfield:
20.6.06
Great Crested Grebe 1
Fulmar 1
Gannet 152 + 3
Manx Shearwater 72 + 15
Common Scoter 50
Kittiwake 45-65
Sandwich Tern 10
Little Tern 1
Guillemots 4
The 152 Gannets and 72 Manxies were in the first sweep of Derek's scope apparently - then it went quiet.
Latest and best news from Derek was the Pomarine Skua he had feeding with Lesser Black Backs on Saturday off Freshfield on Saturday, June 17th, when he also had 3 Gannet and 178 Common Scoter.
Me, I'm still blown away by James Smith's Black Stork in Liverpool city centre - see earlier blog entry.
My Daily Post column tomorrow is about the Common Froghopper and Ronaldo, comparing their capacity for acceleration from a standing start - and the one in the yellow jersey doesn't fare too well.....
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies.....
