More pix from Neill Hunt, who got down to Marshside today- with six Little Gulls, 1st summer birds, on the Sandplant pools, 4 Garganey in the log, but only one on show, Little Ringed Plover in front of Sandgrounders hide and 2 summer plumage Curlew Sands again.

Little Gull used to be quite a scarcity with us, but have become almost regular in May/June over the last few seasons - look for the striking wing pattern of first summer birds, and of course diminutive size.
Lovely birds.
Nice yellow goggles on the LRP Neill...

And a portrait of one of Marshside's noiser summer residents (Whitethroat male)

All the usual stuff down there too apparently, but any day on the marsh at this time of year is usually a good one...

Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...
