First seven Pink Feet back at Martin Mere yesterday. There goes the summer - here comes AUTUMN!!!!!
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies....

I thought Formby Point wasn't bad today, but Neill's just e-mailed me from Australia, if you can't handle hardcore bird envy, don't read any further.....

Tides are good this week and Barry McCarthy was at Formby Point today - he reports a steady passage of terns, inc 215 Sandwich, 2 juv Arctic Skuas and 22 Manx Shearwaters. Worth a look all week really.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies....

.
Went on the "Ultimate Pelagic" from Falmouth out to the abyssal deeps off the continental shelf of the eastern Atlantic earlier this week....
Press release from Lancs County Council - People looking for something different to do on Sundays are being invited to âÂÂtake flightâÂ? on the Bittern Bus.

I think this young Blackbird was just attention seeking a day or so ago at Dempsey Towers - it's not THAT hot anymore (and yes, I do know the grass needs cutting).
Looks perfect for seawatching at the moment, but here's a cautionary tale....

For all the mothmen and mothwomen out there - catch details from the weekend....
Quiet, with very little water at Marshside now....these four Snipe were feeding at the Hesketh Road end of Marshside One.

Now that's what I call a raging hooley!
Managed to get down to check the stormy sea off Ainsdale for an hour or so between 4pm and 5.10pm.
Barry McCarthy caught the tide for a seawatch at Formby Point this afternoon (1.20pm to 4.10pm) - 2 Storm Petrels, 237 Manx Shearwaters, 5 Little Terns, 1 Arctic Skua, plus Gannets, a few scoters, Arctic Terns etc - tomorrow could be a belter if the wind keeps up!
