Bill Oddie was down at Marshside this a.m too, filming for the Autumnwatch goose fest that starts on TV on Monday, and will be broadcast from Martin Mere.
He knows his stuff of course (anyone who finds a Pallas's Reed Bunting is okay with me), and we had a wee chat before he wandered off with his film crew, disappearing onto the Ribble, never to be seen again I imagine.
I felt a bit sorry for him being dragged right out onto the saltmarsh to shoot a piece AND being subjected to the rigours of Nels Hide at its autumnal nippiest.
I was on my quietest best behaviour as they filmed (well, I did my best anyway...shhhhh!!!!), although I couldn't help feeling that Kate Humble would have been a bit easier on the eye.......
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies.....
