A mooch on the mosses

Had to go up to Preston today, so not much chance to do any birding - did notice three Little Egrets on the outer marsh opposite Polly's Creek as we tazzed up the Coast Road past Marshside though.
A few hundred Pinkies and Greylags were grazing Crossens outer marsh.
Later I had a quick look at Churchtown Moss, while the gale was still blasting everything to billy-o.
I wondered if last winter's Rook flock had returned, but there was no sign of 'em.
Plenty of Carrion Crows, Jackdaws, about 20 Stock Doves and two smallish finch flocks.
Everything else was keeping its head down in the gale.
Considered checking the Sands Lake for stormblown Long Billed Murrelets, but it started to chuck it down, so I called it a day.
There's always tomorrow.....
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies.
