Southport photographer Andy Bate gets on the information superhighway with his new website today, so he's sent me a few great pics in the hope of a plug - no problem Andy!
Nice to see the Ruff pic above, and the Little Egret is a stonker, I wish I could get as close to them on the marsh.

Meanwhile the Green Winged Teal is over at Martin Mere again this week, with the usual Whoopers and a single Bewick's Swan (remember when they were the commoner of the two wild swans around here?).
And with Ross's and Ivory Gull up in Scotland at the moment, a check of any gull roost has got to be worthwhile - Ainsdale Beach, Marshside, or for the real gull freaks, the ASDA warehouse roof in St Helens, may all pay back a thorough grilling.
We just don't seem to get the "white wings" like we used to, apart from Meds.
This is hardly surprising given the temperatures at present - no self respecting arctic species would venture south in such balmy conditions.
But if you don't look, you don't find - just ask whoever found Ross's and Ivory on rain drenched, gale-battered godforsaken beaches north of the border this week....
My Daily Post column tomorrow is about birding at the Pier Head in Liverpool.
No, honestly.
(Although there is a bit about Leach's Petrels, butterflies and Red Campion too).
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies....
