John,
All those binocular and telescope sessions - massive profits for some!! I take this line because I have just purchased some Leica 8x50BN's from the States for a tidy some of about ã480 (which rose to ã500-ish when I added insurance and order tracking). Customs and Excise than added another ã120 for duty but that still made them ã620. The cheapest price I could get in the UK? ã1039 - so I'm over ã400 in profit (or still in pocket). The exchange rate is great at the moment for doing this sort of wheeler-dealing.
Bob.
Good optics tip Bob - wish I'd known that before I bought the 10x42 Ultravids in November!!!
Such is life.
