Pallas's Warbler, Hightown

This is what comes of working too hard - there's a Pallas's Warbler in the dunes at Hightown (found yesterday) and present at dusk today - details on Birdline Ted, 09068 700 249. A very nice Christmas present if it sticks around....

I didn't know it was there till a few minutes ago, when John Bannon called me, after he nipped down to see it this afternoon.
If you get a chance, go see it, these are absolutely gorgeous little warblers, if a tad hyperactive.
They're rare enough in Lancs/Merseyside in October, when they usually turn up in the UK having taking a wrong turning in Asia, let alone December....
Just goes to show.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies.....

Those wanting Pallas's should apparently park at the car park at Crosby Coastguards, Hall Road and walk north until you get to an area of reedy slack, where the Pallas's was seen.
Anyone get more info?

About a dozen other watchers/snappers by the time we left. Bird quite flighty, mainly keeping low down in the grass/reeds but moving

the sycamore/willow bushes at the eastern end of the patch where the bird gave good views as we were leaving.
Last night it was seen feeding on aerial gnats but today too cold, wrap up as they say.
A smashing bird though, v pale in flight, called though I didn't hear it and classic if fleeting views of yellow rump and crown
stripe.
Scoping a waste, not sure about digi scoping but you'll need some luck!
