Nipped over to Downholland Moss this afternoon to have a quick look at the white morph Lesser Snow Goose there.
To the tune of Sesame Street's "One of these things is not like the other", it stuck out like a sore thumb grazing in the fields with about 3,000 Pink Feet.
About 300 metres away, so hard to get a decent shot in the grey afternoon light, nice to see one on the mosses again though.
Could be the bird that was with pinkies in Norfolk and Lincolnshire and has travelled north with them as they head back into our area, before the final spring push home to Iceland.
After its brief visit to Martin Mere hopefully it will hang around with the flock on Downholland Moss for a while.
There are lots of feral Snow Geese in Norfolk, but I tried not to think about that as I watched the bird.
One to enjoy and not worry about exactly where it came from I suppose.
Otherwise the mosses were quiet - came back over Plex Moss, but nothing much around apart from corvids, Woodpigeon, Stock Dove, Grey Heron, Linnets etc.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies....
