Went for a walk in the grey and drizzle this afternoon at Taggs Island but it was pretty quiet: a few Grey Plover, Sanderling, Redshank and Dunlin on the sand, and a smallish gull roost, plus about 50 Oystercatchers.

A male and female Mallard were paired up about 500 yards down the marsh, but there were no Jack Snipe - or Common Snipe for that matter - in the favoured area.

A flock of about 20 Shelduck on the beach and 50+ Cormorants loafing about on the tideline - a quiet afternoon.
Anyone see anything else today?
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies.....

Had 5 Snipe and 1 Jack at Taggs yesterday! Maybe you weren't stomping hard enough ;)

Nice one Stephen - looks like I paid the price for getting down to Taggs too late in the day - the early birder catches the Jack Snipe!
