Day full of eastern promise

Neill Hunt, Tropical and Mike Stocker headed east yesterday for a full Yorkshire clean up....I'll let Trops take things up from here.....

"Hi John,
Neill, Mike and my good self did a mop up tour of western Yorkshire today. Got the target bird of Pacific Loon by 10am and went on to succesfully chase up American Robin (above), Firecrest, Shorelark and also found our own Red Kite, Kingfisher and unrung Ringed Teal!!!!!!.
This had recently been mis i.ded as a Mandarin, and back in time to cook up a stonking shepherds pie for my good lady before 6pm.
Life is good......................when ya don't dip."

And that's how you do it.
When winter birding is good, it is very good.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies....

PS For those who drive into the Squirrel Reserve at Victoria Rd, Freshfield, to go seawatching, there is now a big gate barring the way early morning to stop scrotey types stealing trees and squirrels and driving off-road in a cavalier fashion.
Few years in Botany Bay would straighten the rapscallions out, that's what I say.
Anyway it means you can't drive down to the car park at the bottom early in the day, which is a right royal pain if you fancy an a.m. seawatch.
MEMO TO SCROTES: If you must behave like mentally challenged rock apes, do it somewhere else.
