Went to work on the train this mornin' - all very green, very free newspaper, very tickets please, but it meant I walked through Ainsdale in daylight as opposed to driving through it in pitch darkness.
Loads singing - Chiffchaff, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Dunnock, Goldfinch, Greenfinches displaying

all over the place, Wrens singing, Great Tits, Blue Tits, Collared Doves cooing etc

Good relaxing precursor to the mega-mad-dog-work-day ahead, but did anyone get out to do any real birding today?
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies.....

As always I was down the marsh today, it was a bit of a BirdBlog day out!
I was accompanied by Micky boy Stocker (north West year list now 162), and met along the way none other than SiG, Gary (the guy that's stalking you John) and had distant but tickable views of Ron Jackson (swinging his arms in a strange way, as if twirling bait for a raptor!).
Anyway he was on Marshside Road.
Birds seen today: 1 Curlew Sand; 4 Little Stint; 1 Teal, Green Winged variaty; 4 Wheatear; 1 Merlin
Chirffchaffs singing, 1500+ Golden Plover; 51 Avocet; still plenty of Bl. T. Godwits, Dunlin and Ruffs.
