Marshside - teal and more

Posted by on March 13, 2007 2:30 PM |

Thanks to Neill Hunt for the following pics and information:
Teal 1

Teal 2

Drake Green Winged Teal has been showing rather well at Marshside today,
right outside the hide, (sandgrounders).

Teal3

Green winged teal

This is reasonably unusual as
normally when they do occur they hide themselves miles away at the back of
the marsh, so to see one this well is very good indeed. Avocet.jpg
The duck is an American vagrant to Britain and this individual is about the 20th to have
occured at Marshside.
Also present today were appox 46 avocets and 4 Scaup
amongst the usual stuff.

Thanks, Neill!
