Down at Marshside again today - fine sunny afternoon and the hides were packed.
There was barely enough room to swing an Avocet in Nel's, so after counting 14 of said birdies, I went up to Mount Baker and the quieter surroundings of the empty Sandplant compound.
Male and immature Kestrel still hunting on the southside and I managed a few more pictures, but they were moving around a lot more today in the light wind.

Few Reed Buntings at the foot of Mount Baker, where there was also a Stonechat, and several singing Skylark.

One Goldcrest in the Forest of Bale, plus another in the scrub by the birdtable close to the car park (I had one at Dempsey Towers this morning too - birds on the move).
Three Scaup, including an adult male, in with the Pochard on the Sandplant Lagoon, and at least two Little Egrets on the outer marsh.
From Hesketh Road things were quiet, but I couldn't resist another few pictures of the Wigeon as it was so sunny, and most of 'em will be clearing off soon, so it seemed rude not to...
