I always knew there was something of the night about him, but in his defence Neill Hunt's stunning gallery of owl shots were all taken in daylight, so he's probably a little less shady than the rest of Marshside's finest (but only a little).
Right, here comes Neill's owl extravaganza, thanks for the pix buddy - they take my mind off the Glaucous Winged Gull in South Wales, and Cornwall's horde of mega birds (just how can one county have White Billed Diver, white Gyr, Pacific Diver and loads of other stuff? It is so greedy....)

Ah yes, the 2005 trip to southern Spain - scraping roadkill Red Necked Nightjars off the wheels of the van (well, they will doze on the tarmac) and dipping on Trumpeter Finch, while everyone watched one in the UK....good memories.

PS Only joking about running over RN Nightjar, Lesser Black Backed Gull is the best I've ever totalled, at dawn on the outskirts of Dundee, as we went to twitch a Black Stork on the Ythan as I remember.
Mr Hunt looked quite startled in the passenger seat as the gull slammed into my windscreen at 70mph.....although not nearly half as startled as the gull.

Went to Parkgate and Inner Marsh Farm today, got a few first for me, Little Owl, female Hen Harrier , Dunlin, Knot.
Had a visit from 150 Pink Feet at IMF,also watched Ruff, 8 Curlew,38 Grey Heron (yes 38!) 30 Redshank, Great Spotted Woodpecker,and loads of ducks inc Wigeon, Teal, Pintail, Shoveller, Shelduck , Tufted, Gadwall, Coot and Moorhen .
On the way home called at New Brighton saw 1 Curlew ,2 Oysters,and 2 Turnstone.
ps superb photos Neill - nice for me to see the Little Owl again.
