Just got this release from Martin Mere, hardly a substitute for a Black Kite over Wirral, but at least Kate looks cheerful - wonder if I'll be cruelly snubbed like last time......
Autumnwatch returns to WWT Martin Mere
WWT Martin Mere will once again host the hugely successful Autumnwatch series later in the year when Bill Oddie and Kate Humble film live from the Centre for two weeks.
Centre Manager, Andy Wooldridge, said: “Everyone at Martin Mere is delighted that the BBC is returning for Autumnwatch. It was a real honour to be part of the series last year as it not only raised awareness of Martin Mere but also of WWT conservation work. This is going to be an exciting year for the Centre and we are looking forward to working with the BBC to make the series a huge success.
Last October, Autumnwatch was very popular with average viewing figures of 4 million. Martin Mere received a very positive response from the local community with reports suggesting that, bed and breakfast establishments in particular, were far busier than normal throughout the Autumnwatch period, helping to boost the local economy.
Further information regarding dates and activities will be available closer to the time."
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies....
