I know how the Treecreeper feels

Treecreeper

Here's a shot you don't see everyday of pretty common, but unobtrusive character - Mike Price caught this Treecreeper on film near Edge Hill college recently.
Clinging upside down to life (or in this case a tree) with the blood rushing to your head - I know how the Treecreeper feels sometimes.
Thanks for the pic Mike.
Anyway, here's a tip for anyone who wants to get a pic of one of these critters....they always start climbing at the bottom of a tree, so if the bird is in a line of trees, pick one and wait until it comes to you (that's the theory anyway).
My Daily Post column is about mammals tomorrow, from Short Tailed Vole to, er, Rabbit (no., really).
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies ...

Brent, dark bellied race, on Banks Marsh yesterday.Place v wet after big tides and looks like gulls early nesting efforts will have been frustrated.Presumably problems for other ground nesters like Shanks, Pies and Peewits as well.
Three or four pairs of Grey (i.e. "real") Partridges along sea wall nice to see. (I hope to be eating one of the Red Legged variety tomorrow night.) A party of Natural England big wigs being walked along the sea wall to Hundred End flushed a/the Glossy Ibis on Wednesday.
Blackcap in garden (behind Botanic) this a.m., I thought I heard one singing yesterday and a Tree Creeper here a coupla weeks ago,

Cheers, Ron
