Sprawk

The more discerning visitors to the blog will have noticed a certain absence, of how shall we put it, Bazzo, Jellyhead, Neill, Trops and I over the last week or so, but we're back tomorrow and the full horror of our latest intercontinental birding mission will be revealed.
Meanwhile I couldn't help noticing the Collared Doves in Dempsey Towers had increased to five individuals just before I went - critical mass here, as once they reach this number, one inevitably gets whacked by the local sprawk.

Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies ...

Well you missed a wheatear and whinchat alight on the same fence post whilst a grasshopper warbler reeled away in the background (along with willow warbler, chiffcahaff and blackcap in greater numbers than last week), with buzzard and swallows overhead - much to the delight of health walkers at Sutton Manor Woodland yeasterday [yes the Forestry Commission site by the M62!!].
