Got down to the marsh for 7.45am this morning, but things were pretty quiet inland - four singing Willow Warblers, a singing Blackcap and Sprawk along the coastal path, Ruffs, a single Little Stint with 870 Golden Plover on Marshside One, with the usual suspects and a few sitting Avocets.
Seven White Wags in Wheatear Corner, plus a few later on.
Several more Willow Warblers singing along the bank, with Chiffchaff, Goldcrest and a single Sedge Warbler around the hawthorns to the south of the sandplant.
Only one Swallow thro.
Missed two Med Gulls on Polly's Creek - and five Eiders flying up the estuary, but such is life.
Neill whizzed up to Knott End for the Stone Curlew and Bazzo went off to do his WeBs count, so I stuck it out for a little while before hitting the road myself.
Two Lesser Whitethroat singing in Birkdale NR this morning apparently - Tropical had 15 Willow Warblers there earlier in the week.
At least the Dunnocks sat still long enough for a picture.
Two Wheatears around the Sandgrounders Hide, but no sign of the Green Winged Teal - he's probably slunk off in shame because of the rampant sexual deviancy he's been displaying this last few weeks.
More Willow Warblers and Chiffies at Sands Lake.
Loadsa Peacock and Small Tortoiseshell butterflies, plusa Green Veined White.
Had an Orange Tip on Plex yesterday, and Holly Blues out in the garden now.
