Larking about

In late to work today, so had a quick look round Sands Lake and Plex Moss first.
Cold and windy, with the usual suspects about - Whitethroat, Willow Warbler etc at Sands Lake, while on Plex, Corn Bunts and Yellowhammers were singing and a Cuckoo was calling briefly on the Haskayne Cutting.
Few Tree Sparrows there too.
Plenty of hirundines and Swifts hawking low.
Five Rooks in with the Carrion Crows east of Gettens Farm.
Spent some time trying to get reasonable shots of Skylark (and failed miserably).

They never sit still long enough to focus on the little weasels.
Two Wheatears in the same field, but distant.

Tropical and Neill (to be hereafter referred to as "Monkey Boy" - if you ever see him with his shirt off you'll know why) went for the Eagle Owls in Whitendale this morning.
Wonder if they've been eaten yet?
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...
