
Nipped down to Marshside in the late afternoon, but it was very quiet - Shoveler with young still, Ruddy Duck and Tufties on the Sandplant pool, where hirundines and Swifts were feeding.

Down at Nels there are feathers everywhere - mainly the result of moulting Shelducks.
Nothing really stirred, apart from the Lapwings and Avocets anytime a Carrion Crow or gull came too close.
Two Wigeon (male and female) to the north of Nels and at least 12 Teal in various stages of eclipse.
A single Dunlin in with the Redshanks and Blackwits.
Not the most exciting of times on the marsh - but the return wader passage is starting and there's always a chance of seawatching next week.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...
