But what a way to start using a digital camera - in the time honoured "held to scope" way Jellyhead got some cracking images on his recent voyage.
You should see his Gyr feeding young and Steller's Eider!
Stunning shot of Great Grey Owl and a good shot of Arctic Warbler by Simon Jackson, aka Jellyhead, aka Jacko, taken during his recent trip to Finland and Norway.

Regular readers of the blog will know that Simon and the gang scored with Steller's Eider, Pine Grosbeak, Brunnich's Guillemot and even Long Toed Stint!!! (see his comments on the previous blog entry).
Who knows? One day they may even manage to write a trip report......nah....
Thanks for the pix Si.
Meanwhile the wind is picking up from the west tonight around Dempsey Towers - could be a chance of seawatching before Saturday - more stormies anyone?
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies....

Nice one Si, life will never be the same again! This Digi-scoping lark is highly addictive, you will no longer be 'happy' with just seeing the bird.
You,like everyone else armed with a digi camara will want to get 'a shot', just for your own personal use.
After a while though you will be hooked and will no doubt want to deal!
You will start sending your photo's to other users like this blog and Surfbirds. You have been warned.
STAY CLEAN
