Picked up Bazzo just before 8am today and we headed down to the Tobacco Dump for a seawatch. Stuck it out till just past 11am.
The wind, which had been coming in from the north/north west dropped throughout the morning and became variable.Plenty of sun on a quiet day....

Manx Shearwater 65
Gannet 82
Sandwich Tern 90
Arctic Tern 3
Common Tern 1
Arctic Skua 5
Kittiwake 4
Common Scoter 150
Great Crested Grebe 2
Auk sp 1

Certainly not the busiest morning at Formby Point, but if you don't go, you don't get.
Three of the skuas were thermalling together about half a mile offshore, drifting slowly north - weird direction at this time of year.
But lots of Cormorants and BHGs offshore is never a good sign - too calm.
Grey Wagtail and Meadow Pipit calling overhead, with plenty of Goldfinches around the Tobacco Dump nettlebed, and Red Admiral, Peacock and Small Tortoiseshell there too.
Took a detour out over the mosses on way home, but they were quiet apart from four Swifts heading south at Lydiate Station, plus Buzzard, Kestrel etc.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...
