More stunning shots from Rich Steel, who's been busy putting together a superb portfolio of thrush shots - just a few here, but more of his pictures at his site (link on the right of the page).

Over to the man with the camera....

"I have been concentrating on photographing birds some yew trees recently, mainly to get some Redwing shots (which I have previously failed miserably with). A selection of shots attached. Just got to try and get near some Fieldfare now (another bird currently on the hit list), but based on my previous success with these don’t expect any shots of them in the near future…lol"

Thanks for the pix Rich, thrushes are just the business...wonderful.

Nocturnal Birders Club smoke break outside Dempsey Towers this evening revealed a few Redwings going over, but not much else.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...

How do I send you photos, my mate took some super shots of a parasitic wasp at the Sand Plant, Marshside at the beginning of the month. Wondered if any of your entomologist friends might be able to identify it.
We will be looking for coneheads this side of the Ribble next season.
Also are you allowed to forward email addresses from correspondence to the blog? I'm after Mr Anno (TA?)(never mention Norfolk!) Brandreth I've not heard from him for a few years!
Thanks
Dave

Details of submitting pix on the way to you Dave...if Mr Brandreth wants to forward his details to me via unpublished comment, I'll pass 'em on to you - John

Hi John spent half hour with Neill down at Taggs Island, he helped me get two lifers, a Med Gull and a Jack Snipe.
Also a big thanks to him ,for his "how to" i.d bird skills.
Oh and a pale bellied brent goose on shoreline at high tide.
Got to go wash my best shoes now but it was worth it wading through the mud at Taggs for two lifers.
