WIth light fading (the days'll be getting longer again soon, and the Nocturnal Birders Club will be but a distant memory) I managed a few minutes watching the birdies at Dempsey Towers after work this afternoon - at least seven Blackbirds, although we have had up to 11, all feeding away.
Part of the influx Bazzo et al were conjecturing over last week?
I was surprised to notice the females being more dominant around the food on the deck, often chasing off the males.

Plenty of finches (Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Greenfinch) so it looks like I'm free of that nasty finch virus thingy.
Greater 'pecker and titmice still around, the former apparently spending most of its time walking about on the mossy moraine that passes for a lawn at Dempsey Towers, when Mrs D watched it this morning.
Sometimes it's worth chucking peanuts on the floor as well as filling the feeders with them.
Song Thrush, Dunnock, Robin...then the local Sprawk came through and it all went very quiet....

Still Magpies in the roost on the Coast Road south of Pontins this afternoon - I must get down there and count 'em properly.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...
