Hunting buntings

My plan was pretty straightforward - find some moo cows and stake them out in case a Cattle Egret popped up (it saves looking at a distant white chicken in a field near Neston while the current invasion continues anyway).
So off I went onto the mosses - only one problem - I couldn't find any cows, let alone Cattle Egrets.
Not even Farmer Teds held the necessary animals.
I had to make do with three sad looking donkeys on Station Road, Plex Moss.
They were not attractive to Cattle Egrets clearly, but at least there were a few Corn Buntings knocking about, perching on overhead wires, and the Yellowhammer flock there held 14 birds - very nice.
The Yellowhammers tended to dive into the damp stubble field just past the copse on the edge of Plex, occasionally flying back to the hawthorn hedge by the side of the road.

Or at least they did until the hunting set descended yet again, flushing everything out of the field and sending Red Legged Partridges diving for cover.
Not much else out on the mosses - a few small Pink Feet flocks, Mistle Thrushes, Kestrel and two Buzzards.

Two Rooks flew south over Plex early afternoon, but the hunters had cleared out just about everything else.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...

2 Ravens flew inland over Bakers Lane, Churchtown at 0950 this morning croaking loudly.
Went to Marshside for a short while this afo, but nothing out of the ordinary - c85 Pochard, and a 1W Great Black-back caught a duck on Crossens Inner Marsh, attracting the attention of 2 Herons and a crow as it tried to eat it's catch.
