Just spent the last two days getting rained on almost perpetually in the Lakes with Mrs D.
Not much in the way of birds - a few Ravens, and Wrens and Robins in the bracken on the fells.

This one was hard enough to sit out the teeth of a vicious gale on top of a drystone wall, while a right Softy Walter Robin spent its time sheltering from the weather in the wheel arch of the Baby Black Death.
What a wimp.

Not much to do, but drink Jennings and sit in front of log fires in Keswick, which is a pretty good way to spend your time if you can get away with it.
Judging by the paucity of comments on the blog, I don't think I've missed too much down here, although motoring back through Marshside today, there were large numbers of gulls roosting on the tide at the end of Hesketh Road, and a few Little Egrets scattered about the saltmarsh.
May give it a crack tomorrow.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...

Couldn't you persuade Mrs D to visit Walney? :) I was up there during the week and despite the gale force wind had some good views there:
