Inspired by the two Barn Owls I saw this morning at 5.30am, and deterred from birding this afternoon by the shocking weather outside the office (only hooley force four, but driving rain), here's the Barn Owl pix from Austin Thomas (above) and Andy Bate as promised.
Don't think we'll be getting ideal Barn Owl photoshoot conditions today somehow.
Thanks to the boys for sending me the pix, the links to their sites are on the right.
Here's Andy Bate's shots of a bird he has staked out that shows morning and evening as regular as clockwork...is the one at the back of the Churchtown sapling plantation still as reliable I wonder?
Or is this it?

I seem to be developing some type of midlife owl obsession, which can't be an entirely bad thing.
Austin also sent me a shot of a Brambling taken recently and this superb frog picture.

And that's your lot for the moment.
Anyone seen anything else?
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...
