Coming up trumps again with a brilliant sequence of shots, Rich Steel kindly sent me these pix of Short Eared Owl hunting in North Wales recently.
Stunning bird, stunning pics - I wish they were as regular as they used to be on the mosses and the Ribble.

The link to Rich's site is on the right, and when I get time I'll put the rest of the hordes of shots on that he sent me - wait till you see the "Preying Mantis Lapwing" - oh boy!

Meanwhile, all quiet around Dempsey Towers, apart from the dawn chorus beginning to grow in intensity.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...

In reference to your Short Eared Owl comments,as I live in Hale Village I normally have to travel over to Burton Marsh to see Short Eared Owls so I was hugely pleased to be watching 3 of them over Hale Marsh, not a third of a mile away from my house.
They`ve been there for over a week and can be seen most evenings to the left of Hale Duck Decoy.
