Checking Plex

With two Dotterel reported from the top of Pendle Hill today, there was only one place to go - no, not Pendle...Plex.
Admittedly it's been a year or two since we had any on the mosses, but Plex remains the best bet to look for these most excellent of waders.
The two or three ploughed fields just east of Getterns Farm look ideal now that the "traditional" field is full of crops.
There were no Dotterel there today, but they're always worth keeping an eye out for.
A few other bits and bobs though - plenty of Swallows, 5 Wheatears, 11 Whimbrel and in the ploughed fields opposite Getterns Farm a loose flock of feeding alba wagtails made up of 35+ White Wags and 15+ Pied.
Singing Willow Warbler and Whitethroat.
Red Legged Partridge, singing Corn Bunt, and Yellowhammer out there as usual, but the wind began to pick up at bit towards 5pm, so I called it a day.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies....

Hi
Has anyone else spotted the solitary Cormorant which I saw a few weeks ago by the lift bridge on the canal in Litherland?

Sorry if anyone's had problems getting onto the blog over the last few hours - IT gurus currently whacking the techno spaghetti behind it with a big stick.
Normal service will hopefully be resumed asap.
