Friday afternoon and all's well

Mrs D still in a shredding frenzy, so I hit Plex for an hour this afternoon.
Not bad, but the ploughed fields by Getterns Farm only held 6 White Wagtails and a single Wheatear and there was mucho tractor action elsewhere, so little chance of lightning striking twice on the Dotterel front.

Three Yellowhammers, 4 Wheatears, 2 Linnets and 4 Red Legged Partridge in the ploughed area west of Barton on Station Lane, where Phil Smith had scored earlier in the week, and Tree Sparrows, Corn Bunting and Mistle Thrush nearby.
Swallows around all the suitable breeding buildings now.
Whitethroats and Willow Warblers singing away.
If the wind would just swing a bit more and we got a few more showers it could be good for migrants tomorrow...
(Oh yeah, had a Cuckoo flying over the road just north of Jospice at Ince Blundell Woods on the way into the city at 5.30am today).

Back on Plex this Blue Tit threw a few funny shapes before jiggering off, but I headed back to Southport and a Friday night Indian with Mrs D (that's if she can tear herself away from watching the hedgehogs in the garden).
Hope you all remembered to vote Marshside.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies.

At least six Reed Warblers singing in Taggs Island marsh this afternoon.
So far, 172 Natterjack spawn strings counted on the Green Beach. Hopefully, I am on track to beat last year's record of 205.

That Yellowhammer picture... are you sure it wasn't taken near Seascale or whatever they are calling Windscale nowadays?
