Mad busy at work at the moment, so I only got time this evening to scope the Starlings which are about in good numbers around Dempsey Towers at present.
A few young birds flying with 'em now, so instead of mimicry and song, the adult birds just sing and squawk at their offspring from the tv aerials and bring them food as they shelter in the trees.
Fun to watch them throwing shapes and checking each other out though, while the Swifts screamed about overhead - about 4 of the latter tonight - fewer than this time last year.
Mistle Thrushes beating up the Magpies, and Gringos and Goldfinches still singing.
No sign of Lazy Pete the Hedgehog - he's trundled off to pastures new I think.
Good to hear of the Pectoral Sandpiper at Martin Mere today - hopefully it'll be heading towards Marshside in the next few weeks - Marshside One looks pretty good for one at present.
Anyone seeing anything else????
As it's warming up, there's always a chance one of those lurrrvely Red Footed Falcons will finally drift a bit further north - it's nearly June and time for something "big" to come through...cos the weather just ain't cutting it for seawatching at the mo.

Wind really tearing across Plex Moss this morning (25.5.08), keeping everything down.
40+ Rooks, Grey Partridge, Skylark, Oycs, Lapwings, Corn Bunting, Common Buzzard etc.
Gotta hope this hooley brings something in..
