Thanks to everyone who has been sending me pix over the last week - starting off with Chris Bridge, who got this stonking shot of a Jack Snipe at Myerscough Quarry before Christmas.
What I wouldn't give to get a crack at one like that on Taggs Island!
Chris also sent me this selection of shots of the Ainsdale Snow Buntings (still there, still popular), and the Greenland Whitefronts out on Downholland Moss.

Nice one Chris!
Next it's the turn of Graham Moreton, with his selection of shots of hunting Barn Owl and Brambling....

Keith Russell sent me these pix of the Marshside Green Winged Teal, saying: "I've been a keen viewer of your blog and as a new birder it has been invaluable in helping me get to grips with the Southport area.
"After you left Sandgrounders Hide on Monday, the teal did as you mentioned, it swam round the front just in front of the hide."

Thanks Keith.
And lastly, even my brother is getting in on the act, as Michael Dempsey, who usually has difficulty finding his *rse with a flashlight, managed to get some shots of a Black Swan on the Thames this week.
Okay it's not really a wild bird, but he is technically a southerner, so we must make allowances.

Thanks again one and all.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...

Thanks everyone - just got web figures for the Birdblog for January. Last month the site got 20,764 hits - cheers all for the support!

Great view of a male Peregrine from the 14th floor of the Plaza on Old Hall Street in Liverpool this afternoon. Flew past up close a few times before flying off to settle on the air vent of the Tunnel.

There were a lot of Pink Feet out on Plex and Downholland Mosses today, they were very difficult to view out in the middle of the mosses, though a couple of times parts of the flock took flight and moved, I reckon up to 12,000 around.
I never got good enough/close enough views to pick out anything in with them. 350+ Whooper Swans with 37 Greylag Geese on Plex as well, plus 13 Corn Buntings.

About 455 Whoopers with 30 Greylags on Barton Moss this afternoon. 8000+ Pinkfeet were inaccessible towards Haskayne.

I also had really good views of a Stoat on Halsall Moss, probably the best views I've ever had.
