I really thought I'd run out of time this year, when I turned onto Plex Moss Lane for the second time this afternoon and there they were: a superstonking trip of Dotterels running about the big ploughed field about a quarter of a mile east of Gettern Farm like a flock of giant demented Wheatears.
Absolutely mucho deep pleasure baby!

Who cares if it was too windy/rainy/dark to get decent pix, these birds are what it's all about.
Stuck 'em on BIrdline Ted and watched 'em till about 6pm, when more folk had arrived to ogle.
If you get a chance, go, they may stick around in this bad weather.

Graham Clarkson arrived and we ended up counting the trip as they disappeared in and out of the furrows and got up to 15 birds, including 8 gorgeous females.
Biggest trip I've ever seen here.

30 odd Whimbrel and a few Wheatear out there too.
Life is good.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...
