Okay, okay, we've been away

Time to come clean, for those that don't know, I've been gallivanting round the top end of Finland and Norway for the last week or so, and Odin allowing, am due to return shortly...
Did I see my four target birds?
Did I get eaten by a Polar Bear?
Is beer really that expensive in the Arctic Circle?
All these questions and more will be answered shortly.
Meanwhile, what have I missed while I've been away?
Please tell me, it's what the comments bit at the end of every entry is for.

Hi John,
I hope you had a good time in Finland and look forward to reading all about it (especially the price of the beer!)Do you remember I e-mailed you about seeing a Common Tern on my local patch? the first I'd seen here in 18 years, 6 days later I was sat in the garden with the wife when 2 flew over! A bit like waiting for a bus and 3 come all at once! Probably be another 18 years before I get any more.

3 yellow wagtails (m,f and poss juv) just past three pools and flew towards golf course. Little owl, 4 corn buntings, Moss lane. Thurs 10AM.

The first version of the West Lancashire Wildlife website is now live. Please have a look and add it to your favourites.
It is still early days of course, so all, polite, suggestions welcome.
