Hordes of Six-Spot Burnet Moths out in the dunes now -as well as an appreciable influx of Peacock Butterflies in the warm sun.
The Six-Spots really are the business - one of those bugs we take for granted, but are certainly worth a closer look...just look at the tongue on the one above missus!
Emperor, Brown Hawker, Common Darter plus Common Blue and Blue Tailed Damselfly around the Sands Lake, with more Willow Warblers calling plaintively from the cover there, 80+ Sandwich and 25+ Common Tern roosting on Ainsdale beach prior to the high tide and the arrival of carloads of daytrippers and later in the afternoon, a clear passage of hirundines, with several flocks of up to 50 Swallows resting on the sands off the Green Beach.
Apart from that, no one is telling me anything...must be something that I said.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...
