Leach's sail past the dunes of happiness

Very pleasant seawatch today (12.35pm-2.45pm) from the Tobacco Dump dunes, with a cool, but not unkind, force 4 south westerly, and plenty of sunshine as the tide pushed in to cover the sands below me.
Reet peaceful in the September sun.
Two Leach's Petrels were the best birds by a long shot - both heading south about half an hour before the tide's peak, and five minutes apart, approximately 150 metres out.
Razorbills and Guillemots scudding past, and a Bonxie battering a few gulls before it went on its bullying way south.
Common Scoters ever-present, but no sign of any Shears or Gannets today - the season is getting on after all.
Tomorrow may produce more, if the wind holds up, but no one can bird constantly.

Went down the marsh with Trops shortly after the report but we where unable to find/re-locate the LBD. It had been seen on Faircloughs pool and was seen to fly out onto the saltmarsh (landing near the yellow barrel). Checked
Faircloughs, Junction and Nels. Sadly didn't come across it but waders seemed to be one step ahead of us by coming n going before we could grill them fully. Will try again on the tide tommorrow.

No sign of the Dowitcher in the half hour leading up to dusk on either Junction, Sandgrounders or Faircloughs pool but a Barn Owl was over the saltmarsh immediately north of the sand plant. Also at least 18/19 Little Egrets on the marine lake roost at dusk.
