Thanks as ever to Rich Steel for sendingme a selection of shots from the muddy shores of the Wirral - wonderful images as ever.
Says Rich: "A few snaps attached of some of the locals beach babes from the other side of the river. Always nice to catch some of the early returning Turnstones in their summer colours. Seems to be big numbers of Dunlin here this year already".

Hope you caught up with the Hoylake Greenish Warbler Rich!
Pretty quiet this side of the bay today, I tried a seawatch over the tide from Ainsdale, and was rewarded with zip, apart from about 30 Common Scoters and fishing Sarnie Terns.
Formby Point wasn't much better, with (so I'm told) seawatching stalwarts retiring to the Freshfield Arms well before the final whistle (no names, no pack drill).
A single Grey Wag south early doors over Ainsdale dunes was nice, and Swallows zipping through, otherwise a pleasant sunny September day.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies....

Hello
If any Grey Wags ground themselves, could you please all check for colour ring combinations which will identify the birds to individuals.
Colour over colour on right leg, colour over BTO metal on the left leg.
All the rings are single colours, not split into two colours like some of the Twite. All below the knee.
Thanks very much
Pete
