Decided to go and check the colour rings on the Twite flock north of Weld Road on Monday afternoon, but they were flighty as hell!
Took about 40 minutes before they got settled on the deck, having been spooked by everything from pedestrians up on the seawall to the sound of car engines.
Finally 30-40 began to feed around the high tide line, and I was able to scope through 'em.
At least five birds with colour rings - white above green (or blue - the light was lousy), which I think are John Gramauskas's birds.
Not much else in the drizzle - Jackdaw, Skylark, Snipe, Curlew, Shelduck and two miserable looking Little Egrets.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...
