Ah, you know it's summer when you're stumbling around among the empties in the cool a.m. while trying to sort out what's snoozing in the moth trap.
Not a bad haul last night with two Pepper Moths, many Heart and Darts, Flame Shoulders, a few Silver Ys and two Figure of Eightys at Dempsey Towers.
Don't get the latter so much here, and there were more Wainscots than usual too.
Unfortunately it got a bit damp and cold round about 2am (or "Peroni no 6" as it is better known to dedicated mothers), so didn't do as well as I might have done.
Still there will be other nights, and what is there not to like about a great big Poplar Hawkmoth bumbling about, whether it's common or not?
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...
