Many thanks to Rich Steel for sending me this stunning selection of shots from his trip to Finland and Norway earlier in the year - superb seeing proper pix of the excellent birds up there as opposed to my efforts a year or two back.
Every one a winner.
For a full trip report, go to Rich's website, or just enjoy these great shots - my fave is the Temminck's Stint floating in the white out of a snowy Varanger spring....

Failing that, how about Pine Grozzer, Arctic Redpoll and Long Tailed Skua...

or Raven, Short Eared Owl or Red Necked Phal rumpy pumpy?

or even Puffin, Ruff or Golden Plover...

Cheers Rich, lovely stuff.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...

interesting sighting was 6 common buzzards heading north over the Liver building today.
excellent shots - insanely jealous down here in the sticks - anyway mixed tit flocks showing lots of Phylos today - Warblers on the move...
Leg tagged Little Egret on the Mersey/Richmond bank.
This evening on Birkdale LNR we had brilliant views of a Tawny Owl in pretty much broad daylight and then a Hobby cruised over from Hillside Golf Course before disapearing back over to Hillside. Also numerous bats around as the light began to fade, a large (Noctule?) heading straight north up Royal Birkdale GC and numerous Pipistrelles and one medium sized bat.
