Whoosh. Ooh. Ahh. Etc.

Some mighty strange looking jellyfish in the sky above Southport tonight - although the fireworks were pretty good too.
As I settled down with the Outlaws and Mrs D to watch the show by the Marine Lake this evening, Grey Heron and Pinkies passed overhead, and quite wonderfully, a Little Owl flew past over the water and back into the Kings Gardens, long before the fireworks started going off.
Suppose the gardens are perfect habitat for one of these critters.
This was more productive than my trip to Plex this afternoon, where near perpetual rain slid over the blackening fields and it felt really winter gloomy.
A speedy Merlin zipping over the fields on pointy wings was nice, but not much else was about in the poor conditions - Buzzard, one small flock of six Redwing over, Mipits, alba wags, damp Kestrels etc.
You can't win 'em all.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...

Saw a Water Vole swimming across that waterway facing the Showcase Cinema on the East Lancs Road.
